Their income is greatly affected by numbers – did they get that 1st down? No? They needed how many more yards? That almost-a-touchdown that turned into a field goal – that only meant a 4 point difference – what’s 4 points?Why do we make such a big deal about the numbers in our businesses? I need to make money! I don’t have time to fool around with – “is this an advertising expense or is it a personal expense?” I don’t have the time to worry about getting a discount by paying within 10 days – I need to make money!! Yes, I’m paying more for expense reimbursement for my employees – but that’s part of doing business, right?
